Wafer Reclaim
We are Asia's premier wafer reclaim and polishing services provider. Through our wholly-owned subsidiary Ellipsiz ISP, we provide wafer reclaim, polishing, scanning and cleaning services for silicon wafers up to 8" in diameter. Our main customers are leading wafer foundries and integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) in Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, China and the USA. The wafers that are sent to us by our customers for reclaim are typically test wafers used for process and equipment setup and optimisation prior to the batch production of actual device wafers. This is a very important step in wafer manufacturing process and wafer fabs need to run significant quantity of test wafers periodically.

Unlike actual device wafers which will subsequently be cut and assembled in IC packages, the test wafers can be reclaimed and reused. Our wafer reclaim service provides the wafer fabs a viable option to reclaim and reuse their test wafers. Depending on the customer's requirements and condition of the wafers, the test wafers can be reclaimed up to 4 to 5 times (i.e. the same wafer can be used up to 6 times). This translates to huge cost savings compared to purchasing new test wafers each time.

Our wafer reclaim facility is ISO 9001:2000 certified and is equipped with Class 10K, 1K and 1 cleanroom environment that are subject to the same stringent specifications as in the wafer fabs. We are also equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as fine grit wafer polishers, advanced surface scan analysers and surface metal analysers that enable us to produce reclaimed wafers that meet the same stringent quality specifications as for new test wafers. Our process and quality of reclaimed wafers have been qualified by top wafer foundries including TSMC and Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing as well as IDMs such as Hewlett-Packard.

Given the increasing capacity and the number of the wafer fabs coming on-stream in the next few years, it is expected that the demand for wafer reclaim services will increase in tandem. We operate a fully-equipped and EHS-compliant manufacturing and service center at Miao Li, Taiwan. Our refurbishment and exchange services for dry and wet pumps cover products from BOC Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel, Leybold and Kashimaya.
